Unabridged Audiobook
A very timely, validating look at what happens when egregiously wealthy and narcissistic people refuse to take accountability for the harm they've caused.
This is a truly disturbing but fascinating behind-the-scenes peek into Facebook's unethical corporate culture. Zuckerberg can be seen in all his awkward, amoral, insecure glory, while Sheryl Sandberg comes off as a power-hungry, hypocritical, sadistic narcissist. Well-written with engaging narration.
Such a interesting read about power, money, greed and unethical behavior by Facebook's leadership. Also it's about the leadership's indifference to the mayhem and damage the company has caused in the world.
If you thought social media was a plague on humanity, he is insider confirmation. It is a study in how a lack of morality or ethics has infected society today. She not a great writer but the story is compelling. Upon completion I deleted facebook.
Content was excellent. The audio didn’t always line up with book. At times, I had to slow down from my usual 1.5 speed because of the narrator’s accent.
Very interesting insight into the executive level of a massive global corporation.
Bloody hell. This is a must listen audiobook. Not uplifting, but certainly illuminating. What an awful bunch of humans.
This was SO good and eyeopening. It’s sad that the author has gone through so much. But I hope she has a better life now. I was in corporate life a long time ago and her experiences resonated with me because there were a few I had experienced in my career too. It was good but hard to hear of someone’s similar struggles. The rich and powerful care NOTHING for us mire mortals. But I hope we learn from this book and I hope for better things to come for the author.
while a relevant book, I lost interest in hearing just how awful the company is. I lost respect for FB movers and shakers years ago, so I was'nt surprised by the details of just how self centered and self important the company's founders and higher ups are the writing is good, and narration is good, I just lost interest.
Very insightful to some of the inner workings of facebook’s involvement in geopolitical events.
Eye-opening view of what happens to people who accumulate wealth and power mentally and how difficult it is for them to see or care how their actions hurt others.
I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. The story telling is great and it really paints a picture of the situation. On top of that is also informative and well rounded in its discussion of policy in the US and abroad. I hope this book in turn into a series. It felt like a peak into the world of Facebook and the elite in general.
Worth the listen to get an inside look into the growth and power of a social media company and what they can all control and influence. Especially the CEO Mark and his leadership team.
