Unabridged Audiobook
Starts great but turns to the most boring and senseless monologue. A total let down. I had listened to We used to live here and I had high expectations for this one.
Excellent audiobook
I recently finished this audiobook and I really, really wanted to love it, especially since Marcus is a Canadian author (and I’m trying to support my fellow Canadians especially during these times). I am sad that I found the book to be just decently good. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars, and would officially give it 3.5 if I could. I think it started better than how it ended up toward the end. It sometimes felt very repetitive, and not just the parts that were purposely repetitive to add to the story. Some sections I couldn’t remember if I’d read/listened to or not and found myself having to go back and check, or I’d lose track of what was going on. It was mostly Macy’s own monologue throughout the entire book, and characters are very limited (which is fine). Don’t get me wrong, it was still a good read and I’d still recommend it. I actually have not read this author‘s previous book but have wanted to for a long time, so will be checking that out next!
Enjoyed this more than the first book by this author.
I have so many questions!! Great read.
