Unabridged Audiobook
I listened to the audiobook, and let me just say that the voice of the narrator, Dean Robertson, was as lively and varied as watching cows graze. I thought of giving up early on because she sounded like she gave up long before she started the book and spoke too quickly. All the female characters had a decent southern dialect but the males didn’t, though from the same area. Everything was read in the same tone making it exceedingly difficult to work out who is saying what. Not making it any easier was NR's choice to frequently change POV's, sometimes just to re-explain a plot point that really needed no further explanation. Had it not been for the narrator, I would have enjoyed the story more.
Really great story. The narrator had a southern accent (very appropriate) but read quickly & difficult to distinguish between characters.
the book was interesting but the narration was extremely tedious. There was no inflection or emotion in the oration.
enjoyed
The book was good. However the narrator completely ruined this for me. They read too quickly without intonation or emotion making the story really difficult to follow . Several times I found myself rewinding to listen to it again due to the narrator’s poor diction
This is a great read. I'm a huge fan of Nora Roberts. The Narration is fine and doesn't muddle the story to make you try and figure out who's talking.
I enjoyed the book. Norah Roberts writes so well that I actually felt the humidity curling my hair while I was listening. Narrator kept it interesting. The accents sometimes were a little off but overall I thought she did a good job.
