Summary
Opposites attract in this low-angst gay romance filled with British snark and humor.

Life should be a breeze for a playboy like Charles Heppel. As the third son of an earl, he lives for the moment, partying and playing. Settling down isn't for him. Not when London is full of beautiful men who he hasn't one-and-done yet.

To escape his family's nagging, Charles applies for a temp job that matches his playful skill set. A role in a Cornish classroom could be his until the summer, if Charles meets two conditions: he must move in with the headmaster's best friend, and teach him to be happy.

Living with Hugo should be awkward. Charles is a free spirit, but Hugo's a man of faith, with morals. A man who almost took holy orders before disaster changed his direction. Only far from being a chore, Charles finds that making Hugo happy soon becomes his passion.

Together, they share physical and emotional first times. Ones that change Charles, touching his soul. He wants Hugo for longer than they have left, but learning to love with his heart, not just his body, will take a leap of faith from Charles-in himself as well as Hugo.

Contains mature themes.

I truly love Cornell Collins and his amazing narrations. This particular story was modern, heart-warming and sensual. I chuckled an awful lot with some of the moments.

I always have a bit of nervous excitement starting an audiobook for a much-loved story, especially when I’m unfamiliar with the narrator. I loved Charles, so of course I was excited to hear that his book was coming to audio. However, Charles is such a special character within the Learning to Love series as a whole, that I definitely had a firm idea of his voice, tone, and presence in my head, and wondered if this narrator would capture it. I was very happy that Cornell Collins’s tone fit Charles well, injecting his love of life and silly moments with a sense of joy and urgency while also reflecting the beautiful emotions and introspective parts that make this story so great. Once again, I was lost in this special world with wonderful characters devoted to creating a school and environment that would embrace its students and community. I loved getting back to Glynn Harber and so enjoyed re-experiencing Hugo and Charles finding each other and themselves. If you enjoy well-developed character-driven stories with a good balance of humor, romance, and personal growth, I’d highly recommend Charles and the entire Learning to Love series.

MM, Opposites Attract, Contemporary, Romance. First book in this great series of heartwarming stories that can be enjoyed as stand-alone's (except book 5 that needs to be enjoyed after book 1. I love Charles Heppel, he is a fantastic character that has faced some struggles along the way. The narrator is new to me but did a fantastic job bringing Charles and Hugo to life, I have been listening to this audio book constantly and repeatedly since I downloaded it and can't recommend it enough.

Charles is a beautiful person, deeply complex that everyone can see but himself. Hugo has both physical and mental (spiritual) wounds that need healing and Charles helps him in more ways than one. Their friendship was beautiful and the way their love grew!! The secondary characters stories are woven throughout and really help to make Charles and Hugo’s story so much more meaningful. Loved seeing Keir (His Haven) The author’s world building is spot on and phenomenally beautiful. This was my first audio by Cornell Collins! Phenomenal job!! Each voice was clear and distinct! Overall a wonderful story narrated beautifully! Highly recommend!
