Great book. The enthusiasm of the author for his subject is wonderfully communicated. This is not a commentary but a survey of interesting themes traced through the OT. The author’s familiarity with the OT and his delight in the structure of scripture shines throughout. My only reticence lies in what I would regard as a few unhelpful statements concerning the Lord Jesus and his amillennialist views. His assertion that his views are a cumulative view of OT revelation sounds plausible until one looks at earlier texts and sees that the promises given demand fulfilment in a physical land granted to a physical seed. This is not to discount wider/expanded fulfilment but we cannot certainly ignore the clear statements of Yahweh.
