Summary
There are many ways to die at the Circus of the Dead.

You’re invited to witness them all.

Mom sent me all the way across the country to the Louisiana bayou to join the circus and help my uncle for the summer.

Except there is something not quite right on this swampy cursed island, and after having my fortune told, I can’t leave.

I try to escape, but Benny, an all too charming ghost gangster tries to kill me by feeding me to a tiger.

Thankfully I’m rescued by Samuel, the incredibly hot ringmaster who can’t be a day over twenty. Can he?

In addition to avoiding the human scorpion, staying away from the big cats, and having trouble figuring out who’s dead and who’s alive, I have to find a way to escape this horror show.

Will I get out of the circus alive or will I join their army of ghosts and become a murderer myself?

OMG this is such a great book. I loved it not all saccharine sweetness. I thought it was so we'll written and a really excellent novel concept.

Wow, this book totally sucked me in right away. I was hooked from the first page and felt so connected to the characters. Their struggles and triumphs felt so real, I couldn't put it down. Honestly, I'm still thinking about them. Highly recommend!Loved how the narrator brought the story to life! Their pacing was spot on, making it easy to follow. The clarity of their speech was also great. No mumbling or rushed words, which I appreciate. A truly enjoyable listening experience.

Good story line for teen girls fantasy, which is what it is meant to be.I am long past my teens and so found it a bit silly. I did enjoy the ghosts and ghouls though and would listen to the rest of the books whilst driving as the story, language etc is easy to process.

Curious I know it’s a story sending a young 16 year old daughter to assist her estranged Uncle on an island who is part of a circus daughter is frightened her parents laugh off her cries to come home I feel for a many who are in situations in the real world with so called parents!

For my personal taste, Id go with 3.7. It was a free audiobook sample and it was pretty good; good build up for a series that's 12 books long currently I can't say as I was utterly enthralled but I certainly wasnt bored or uninterested either. I would 100% recommend for fans of some YA-ish thriller/mystery voodoo vibes. Definitely worth it if that's your thing. I wouldn't be opposed to picking up the second eventually...but with soooo many books on my TBR, I'm going to put this series on hold for a bit.

Wow what a story. Another blind pick… yet one of the best ones. This book had me intrigued from start to finish. Finished in 2 days.
