Unabridged Audiobook
Slower and not so intense.....I still enjoyed the story and the narrator is spot on as always....still a great fan!
I struggled with who was who because of all the crazy names. Agent Pendergast was a bit laid back lacking wit and slick moves while looking for his thought to be dead wife. I still enjoyed it as I am going through the series. I would love more scare factor. Dark eerie Manor kind of mystery! Fantastic narrative.
I did not like this book as much as the others in the Pendergast series. I would have given the book only two stars, except that the reader Rene Auberjonois was outstanding. Pendergast has lost his edge in his manic quest to find his wife and makes some serious mistakes. Is he distracted or past his prime? Also the Nazi conspiracy seems far-fetched and not very original. All Germans are cold-blooded bastard Nazis. As a native German speaker I noticed that the German was pronounced wrong. The worst though is that it ended with a cliff hanger. I don't like books with open endings. Overall, bring back the old Pendergast or I will be done with the series.
Too convoluted and Pendergast is too amazing. He i s an FBI agent but he does what he wants. He should be a Marvel super hero. Slogged my through it.
