The Colony Beneath the Swamp: A Pulp Weird Fiction Novel of Florida Swamps, Frog People, and Chemtrail Madness

Barry Babcock is the Florida Man headline everyone thinks they understand: a damaged drifter, a drug-fueled public spectacle, and the supposed source of a growing panic about frog people in the swamps of Central Florida.

Inside a mental health facility, Barry recounts his story to Doctor Lee—beginning with grief, addiction, and a reckless experiment with Chemtrail Dust, and spiraling into glowing blue mushrooms, swamp magic, violent alligators, and a hidden amphibious society known only as the Colony. The more Barry remembers, the harder it becomes to decide whether the Colony was a delusion built from trauma or a horrifying truth the world refuses to see.

Darkly funny, grotesque, tragic, and wildly strange, The Colony Beneath the Swamp is a pulp weird fiction descent into grief, addiction, conspiracy, monster myth, and the thin line between madness and revelation.
