Sometimes, you know how a story ends, and it can be sad, but sometimes, it can be hopeful as well. C.S. Lewis' life as well as end of life is famous. However, Harry Lee Pope's story and Simon Bubb's reading make this larger than life figure more than human. Together, the story comes across as humble and as mundane as everyone else. These are the kinds of biographies that are needed about people like C.S. Lewis. The narrative of this trilogy of biographies make it relatable even in the everyday that show the brick and mortar of a man. There were foibles, thoughts of the time, and maybe even some imperfections Lewis might not have admitted to life in these books, but I think the measure of this man was not that he was flawed, but rather he admitted to his flaws and tried to do better. If you're a fan of Lewis (for whatever reason and I know there are many) give this whole set a listen to. You might get a lot out of it. I know I did.
