Summary
Detective Harry Bosch was sure he'd shot the serial killer responsible for a string of murders in LA . . . but now, a new crime makes him question his convictions.

The Dollmaker was the name of the serial killer who had stalked Los Angeles ruthlessly, leaving grisly calling cards on the faces of his female victims. Now with a single faultless shot, Detective Harry Bosch thinks he has ended the city's nightmare.

But the dead man's widow is suing Harry and the LAPD for killing the wrong man-- an accusation that rings terrifyingly true when a new victim is discovered with the Dollmaker's macabre signature.

So for the second time, Harry must hunt down a death-dealer who is very much alive, before he strikes again. It's a blood-tracked quest that will take Harry from the hard edges of the L.A. night to the last place he ever wanted to go-- the darkness of his own heart.

With The Concrete Blonde, Edgar Award-winning author Michael Connelly has hit a whole new level in his career, creating a breathtaking thriller that thrusts you into a blistering courtroom battle-- and a desperate search for a sadistic killer.

Good engaging story. Dick Hill is my favourite narrator.

Not a fan of this narrator for the Bosch series of books.

Great, great book. Terrible narrator because his "voices" are not authentic.

Wonderful story and the worst sound quality I've ever heard. Narrator sounds like he's under water. And, just FYI, if hiring a Canadian have quality control; the character's name is Bosch, like BOSH, not Bawsh. It would be trivial if the name didn't come up so often.

Bosch is always a great listen.

Great book! Poor narration. I say this only because of how much I can hear the narrator smacking his lips in between lines. This is gross and distracting from the story

I love the Bosch book series. The character is different from the TV series. Bosch is a hardworking detective who is a natural leader. The Concrete Blood throws a wrench into a previously solved case, and Bosch is forced to defend himself due to actions used to solve the previous case. Did Bosch get the wrong guy, or is there a copycat? It gets very complicated.

I’m listening to the books in order and just finished the Concrete Blonde. Excellent story and I enjoy all stories read by Dick Hill. This is my first experience with Michael Connelly’s writing an Harry Bosch. As a retired police office I can honestly say these books capture reality. I look forward to the rest of the series

Another gripping story, narrated expertly.

This is a young Harry! It seems that even in his youth he was an impetuous fellow, the quintessential man who acts from instinct and before thought. He is fortunate in that his instincts are often borne out. There's a romance brewing in this book, but we all know that Harry is too much of a loner for it to last. An excellent novel of suspense and police procedure. Michael Connelly is a pro.

Loved the book! Number 3 in the Harry Bosch series. This book helped fill in the details of the "Dollmaker". Finished it in a couple of days. On to number 4!

One of the best Bosch books I've listened to. It was nice to have 1 book where he isn't so alone all the time... And I liked not being able to figure out the ending too early.

Had me going until the very end. Could not guess who the killer was. This is the second of Michael Conelly's books that I have listen to and both were excellent books, looking forward to getting another of his books.

Another great Harry Bosch detective story! I only wish it was the unabridged version. I'm usually pretty good at guessing who the murderer is, but he kept me guessing until the very last minute. I love all these Harry Bosch stories and this is no exception.

Harry comes through again. It is a good book, not great but good. Made it a nicer ride to work. The reader was not up to regular standards. You gotta love Bosch.

Loved the story and Harry Bosch. Absolutely HATED the storyteller. His voices were dreadful. If you can put up with the voice, the story is good.

Another of Michael Connelly's entertaining, highly realistic and technically accurate "Harry Bosch" crime dramas. As a former L.A. Times crime reporter, Connelly knows his subject matter and every clue rings true.

I have become a big fan of Harry Bosch series by Michael Connelly. I first listened to "The Narrows" and "The Closers". Now I am going back to rent the older books of the Bosch series. Things are never as they seem with so many plot twists all of these books keep you on the edge of your seat. These books make my commute so much easier and I actually look forward to the drive. As far as The Concrete blonde, it seems the abrigement is done a little bit too much (only 3 discs) so it doesn't allow any characters to develop, the story seems to jump abruptly like a badly edited movie. But, a typical nail-biting finish I have come to expect of Michael Connelly was there and I was not disappointed. All the folks who enjoy the murder/mystery genre should not miss this one.
