This was a bookclub read and I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy it, but 10 minutes in I was hooked. Really enjoyed the unusual way of developing the characters. I kept a note of all the books and authors mentioned and considering reading all the books I haven’t read yet. Starting with Never Let Me Go. Enjoyed the narrator(s) too.

Really enjoyed this book

Really successful use of epistolary genre, many voices leaving gaps in the narration but giving enough to engage and make sense. Poignant story line with many of current dilemmas ( was not sure why Covid was left out, when it was clearly placed in a realistic historical social setting). Beautifully read. Many thanks

I loved it. It answered a lot of questions that unsettle older people. The heroin was very believable kind and caring. I loved some of the other people in the story too. I will read this author again if I am able to.

Moving storyline. Enjoyed how I inevitably warmed to the main character. The Narration was exceptional.

i was scheptical at first - didnt think i would enjoy the whole book as letters, but i quickly became hooked and it was very enjoyable.

It was an unusual format but I enjoyed it a great deal! I liked how all the different aspects of the story tied up. Good narrating too.
