Unabridged Audiobook
Felt like a 'Nancy Drew' novel about her first job. All characters boring and in early 20s. I have enjoyed other books from this author. Disappointing
Not the best FMF book I've read. I couldn't get past the overly annoying obsession with turtles.
Good book, keeps tension and mystery all the way to the end.
Great read
Enjoyed this story as I do all of Freida McFadden’s books.
Another great book by this author!
Much of the first part of the book is written in emails, which was different. As expected, there was a huge plot twist that I never saw coming. Not my favorite of her’s, but 5* worthy.
Crazy plot twist. Absolutely loved the book!
this was the 1st FMF book that i was just not that interested in. Her other books I have always been captivated by. This one fell short.
Disappointing and Meh...the narrator was irritating and every character was completely unlikable. I thought I liked this woman's novels but every time I read one after her first I realize they get worse and worse. This book was not good...
Very underwhelming and overly repetitive.
Amazing read
shows there's a little devil in all of us.
the explanation of the book was really well explained and soundedinteresting I have a feeling i'ma love this book they better make this a series if I love it .
Nice little twists at the end.
Too much back and forth with Mia and Doncha. However the plot was a good surprise.
Good book, weird twist but I liked it
Loved it. Full of surprises and twists. I would hate to work with Natalie though.
I really enjoyed this author’s other book “Want to Know a Secret?” However, this book seems as though it was rushed and there is an almost hyper fixation on turtles. I’m not sure if I will finish this book.
Kept me from getting bored during my commute, but this wasn’t a very exciting story and the ending was so unrealistic. She has much better books!
It was just okay
It was a great story I totally recommend
Terrible , big mistake terrible 1970 writing
As always a good twist!
Another loved book by Freida
Per usual, didn't see that one coming!
The story was well written and interesting, but the emails (how they were written in), was over the top annoying.
Thrilled and a big surprise at the end. Loved it!
Good read but veryyyy drawn out. It does put you in the story but unnecessarily long.
Another page turner from Freida McFadden!
Was a little predictable…didn’t really like the ending.
Loved it!!
Was pretty good, I feel like the narrators fit the characters.
really enjoyed the book
Quick and easy, enjoyable.
slow at first then I was hooked
Middle of the road book and narration.
Honestly crazy story. I loved all of it sat through the whole thing from beginning to end. Couldn’t put the book down. Plus the narrator helped me stay engaged and feel the emotions.
It was a okay book, I was interested in the mystery but the turtle talk was a bit annoying
I loved this read. Kept me guessing- true to McFadden form. I had whiplash by the end. Highly recommended.
Good book kinda funny too
Very enjoyable, wanted to keep listening throughout the book.
Loved!
This is the first time I have read a book by this author. I found 3/4 of the book to be slow and uninteresting. I plodded through and the end did have a nice twist. I did not like either of the main characters. I'm not sure I would recommend this book to others but I understand this author is a very good author. So I will try another book of hers.
The story has some good twisty bits. But it drags on a few places. But that could also be due to the personality of some of the characters. The narrator was pretty good, but again, the voice of the character made it difficult to distinguish what was the story and what were the choices of the narrator. All in all, à solid mystery.
This was a fun listen but I guessed the twist at the end about halfway through the book. I love the flow of her writing and it’s an easy story to follow. I really like the narrator! She was amazing!
omg what a great book! did not expect thar ending! loved it!
Ok but annoying in places and the ending was dumb.
Really enjoyed this book. I raced through it in a day. Listened to a bit and read quite a lot of it
Interesting plot, but I hated all the characters lol
Not too bad, almost had some similarities to “gone girl.” Overall I will listen to it again.
Good read
It was a book
Love it
I didn’t finish the book.
Could not finish. It was just dumb.
Two narrators, one unreliable, make for an absorbing listen for those, like me, willing to suspend disbelief and swallow a long string of coincidences and barely credible time conjunctions. Great VIP perk pick, though, and a superb narrator.
For me I don’t feel like this is one of McFaddens better works. The story was predictable and tedious and then sort of jumps to the end.
A little different but still the same great twists
It was an interesting listen. Very predictable.
Boring
it was a good thriller with some interesting twist in it. Although it seemed very similar to other books, the author has done, including the tenant. A lot of the same elements are present in this book that are in the tenant. It seems almost the same senses are written.
i don’t mind a plodding book. sometimes it’s good enough. but this was fairly predictable with really no like able characters, without redemption or remorse. and it lacked any humor. not my cuppa.
Liked the book but hated the email context in the book. There were some wow factors but wasn’t the best
I couldn’t stand to listen to 1 more email being read! I figured out the killer right away and the narrator’s voice and point of view were irritating to listen to. Sorry for the bad review but just being honest.
Disappointing. Lots of filler and irrelevant info.
This book was good, narrator was good too.
This book was an absolute waste of time. A boring story that seems to drag on and on. The narration was decent, but it seemed as if it was a story for high school girls or maybe not even that
My first and last read by this author. Not sure what all the hype is with her writing. Not impressed at all.
This book keeps you guessing about what’s going on which I enjoyed. I have read other books by this author and she’s a good writer. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is because one of the characters was so annoying, it took away from the enjoyment of the book. Every time the narrator was in this character’s voice I cringed.
Amazing twist of the story which I did not expected at all. Great story and written with much thought. Highly recommended.
Good story line but the back and forth emails got very monotonous.
Didn't see that twist coming
The twists and turns made this a great book. I really enjoyed it!
Loved it. I can’t wait to hear more of her books
Nice book
Fiction is not a genre I typically read, and we all know that much of the quality of an audiobook experience lies with the reader. This was my first read of McFadden and I feel I nailed both with this selection. It kept my interest, kept me guessing, & Alyson Krawchuk was excellent for the voice actor who I plan on following.
Another great book from Freida, enjoyed the twist
Excellent, loved the plot twist!
good listen, great story. loved it
Loved it!!!!
Great book. Ending was crazyyy, didn’t expect that!
I don't like this book. there was no character development and everyone in it sucks as a human being. however as stories go it's pretty good just in the end technically nothing happened.
Her books always have so many twists and man this did not disappoint! All the way to the last sentence.
It is a light hearted mystery. There was nothing scary or sinister about it . A good listen that kept me engaged but not in my top 5 or anything like that.
I kind of hated everyone in this story
Plot has a few twists but all are plausible. Narrator does an excellent job of voicing the various characters. Good listen.
I was a little bit annoyed with the style of writing in the beginning, but I eventually got used to it. I was on the fence whether or not I enjoyed it, but in the end, it was a good book.
Lots of loose connections for this murder case and somewhat unrealistic but the book was okay.
I noticed the author was popular, I wanted to give it a try, it was okay!
I wanted to like it. Unfortunately, this is the second Freida McFadden book I’ve listened to and both were a bust for me. I don’t know that I will give the author a third try. As for this book- let me start with the narrator. Her voice was painful to listen to. I know it was intentional for the character of Dawn but it was like nails on a chalk board. It is a monotone voice that sounds like an intellectually challenged person. This somewhat fits the character’s personality but it was overdone. Then as far as the story goes, it was a boring and unbelievable plot with an expected outcome. The incessantly repetitive way the story and narrator recall the emails back and forth between characters is so annoying and unnecessary, truly taking away from the intended story. I would not waste the time and money on this book. Just pass.
At the end of the book it started to get better. This author is better than this book. All the emailing in the book just about drove me over the edge. I had a hard time getting through it.
not my favorite
Not the best book from the author, but definitely worth a lesson. A bit far fetched, but twists and turns keep you engaged. Feel like this would be a better physical read than audio read.
I usually like Freida McFadden books, but this one was not my favorite. The reading of emails, while important to the story, was very anno’
So easy to get lost in Freida’s books. Before I knew it, it was over!I always try to predict the twists but I was wrong on this one! Great book!
