Summary
Two women. An office filled with secrets. One terrible crime that can't be taken back.

Dawn Schiff is strange.

At least, everyone thinks so at Vixed, the nutritional supplement company where Dawn works as an accountant. She never says the right thing. She has no friends. And she is always at her desk at precisely 8:45 a.m.

So when Dawn doesn't show up to the office one morning, her coworker Natalie Farrell―beautiful, popular, top sales rep five years running―is surprised. Then she receives an unsettling, anonymous phone call that changes everything…

It turns out Dawn wasn't just an awkward outsider―she was being targeted by someone close. And now Natalie is irrevocably tied to Dawn as she finds herself caught in a twisted game of cat and mouse that leaves her wondering: who's the real victim?

But one thing is incredibly clear: somebody hated Dawn Schiff.

Enough to kill.

The Coworker is a tense, unputdownable thriller from New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden that explores the dark ways the past can echo through the present―with deadly consequences.

Felt like a 'Nancy Drew' novel about her first job. All characters boring and in early 20s. I have enjoyed other books from this author. Disappointing

Much of the first part of the book is written in emails, which was different. As expected, there was a huge plot twist that I never saw coming. Not my favorite of her’s, but 5* worthy.

Not the best FMF book I've read. I couldn't get past the overly annoying obsession with turtles.

this was the 1st FMF book that i was just not that interested in. Her other books I have always been captivated by. This one fell short.

Disappointing and Meh...the narrator was irritating and every character was completely unlikable. I thought I liked this woman's novels but every time I read one after her first I realize they get worse and worse. This book was not good...

Too much back and forth with Mia and Doncha. However the plot was a good surprise.

Loved it. Full of surprises and twists. I would hate to work with Natalie though.

I really enjoyed this author’s other book “Want to Know a Secret?” However, this book seems as though it was rushed and there is an almost hyper fixation on turtles. I’m not sure if I will finish this book.

Kept me from getting bored during my commute, but this wasn’t a very exciting story and the ending was so unrealistic. She has much better books!

Fiction is not a genre I typically read, and we all know that much of the quality of an audiobook experience lies with the reader. This was my first read of McFadden and I feel I nailed both with this selection. It kept my interest, kept me guessing, & Alyson Krawchuk was excellent for the voice actor who I plan on following.

I don't like this book. there was no character development and everyone in it sucks as a human being. however as stories go it's pretty good just in the end technically nothing happened.

It is a light hearted mystery. There was nothing scary or sinister about it . A good listen that kept me engaged but not in my top 5 or anything like that.

Plot has a few twists but all are plausible. Narrator does an excellent job of voicing the various characters. Good listen.

I was a little bit annoyed with the style of writing in the beginning, but I eventually got used to it. I was on the fence whether or not I enjoyed it, but in the end, it was a good book.

Lots of loose connections for this murder case and somewhat unrealistic but the book was okay.

I wanted to like it. Unfortunately, this is the second Freida McFadden book I’ve listened to and both were a bust for me. I don’t know that I will give the author a third try. As for this book- let me start with the narrator. Her voice was painful to listen to. I know it was intentional for the character of Dawn but it was like nails on a chalk board. It is a monotone voice that sounds like an intellectually challenged person. This somewhat fits the character’s personality but it was overdone. Then as far as the story goes, it was a boring and unbelievable plot with an expected outcome. The incessantly repetitive way the story and narrator recall the emails back and forth between characters is so annoying and unnecessary, truly taking away from the intended story. I would not waste the time and money on this book. Just pass.

At the end of the book it started to get better. This author is better than this book. All the emailing in the book just about drove me over the edge. I had a hard time getting through it.

Not the best book from the author, but definitely worth a lesson. A bit far fetched, but twists and turns keep you engaged. Feel like this would be a better physical read than audio read.

So easy to get lost in Freida’s books. Before I knew it, it was over!I always try to predict the twists but I was wrong on this one! Great book!
