My Grandfather read Robert Service poetry to me 45 years ago in preparation for a trip to (then truly wild) Alaska. The cremation of Sam McGee was my favorite poem as a young boy, and remains so nearly 5 decades later.

when i have children I'll scare them with this chilly poem!
