Unabridged Audiobook
For a book that supposedly makes fun of tropes this is crammed full of them. The petulant child hero rebelling against his role. Acting out and rebelling against any authority with no knowledge of the situation you are in. The worst one for me is the intentional ignorance of the main character so the author can trickle in a tiny bit of new info each chapter when we all know he should know just as much as the reader does. You intentionally make the MC less intelligent than an average consumer of this genre. [potential spoilers removed] Sure this book might get better by the end but I'm not willing to allow the time to rebuild any respect I might have for the main character. so much trope. same as most.
