Unabridged Audiobook
Great book love the author and its story and characters
Sam's complaints, denials, and insecurities were insufferable to read in the first 10 chapters. I know it's meant to set her up for growth and serve as a foil for Nick, but it made the first portion of the book challenging to get through. But I also think it speaks to the strength of the writing that the situation was so relatable that I had to take breaks to face my own insecurities brought to surface from Sam's story. It hit way too close to home for me and the adults still trying to get our shit together in a crumbling economy and workforce. I also thought her relationship with Nick was cute albeit rushed considering the focus of the majority of the story takes place over the course of a month or so.
