Unabridged Audiobook
I really enjoyed this book. There is a complex fantasy world and political system. I really enjoyed the political aspects and how they affected the romance plot line. I also love that it is narrated by the author, which I didn’t realize until I started listening to the book. Overall, it was really enjoyable.
I did not expected to like these series so much. Other books for me are better that the first, there are some writing issues, too much repetition of the same words, but everything else is fantastic! Loved complex characters, very interesting magical world, unpredictable twists in the story keeps you on the edge
The author knows how to paint beautiful pictures. I was kept on edge by the intrigue, but the love interest was disappointing for me. A beta male. The way the hero falls for him reminded me of narcissistic love bombing. Other than that, I was impressed by the way the book reveals the rules and history of this universe in such an organic way. I will be listening to the whole series to find out how that curse can be undone.
