I’m a fan of Donna’s books and have listened to most of this series. As I’ve said before, her writing style is easy to read and I like the way she paces the development of her plots. I love the fantasy world that Donna has created. Her characters are never just good or evil, she creates complex souls with a multifaceted mix of positive and negative traits. This makes them more credible; bringing them to life in my mind.\r\n\r\nI connect to a story more when the female protagonist has certain personality traits. Chevonne’s journey wasn’t easy at times, but I admired her intelligence, resilience and strength. Chevonne is a brave and loyal woman: I loved learning about her life and getting to know her in this story. Ruarc, being a Reaper, obviously, means that we’ve met him before in previous books. However, it was great to get beneath his skin and get inside his head during this one. In fact, I liked the way that we learnt more about existing characters in this tale as well as some new faces too.\r\n\r\nVictoria McGloven is still a fairly new-to-me voice actor. I enjoyed her performance and liked the pace at which she read this book. However, I found her reading of the narrative lacked emotion during certain scenes. The voices she created for the different characters meant that I was never confused as to who was speaking. Victoria managed to capture Chevonne’s personality perfectly; conveying her emotions, hopes and worries to a tee.\r\n\r\nI love Happy Ever After endings too. Woop! Woop! But Dark Alpha’s Passion isn’t just about the romance between Chevonne and Ruarc. There are a couple of other plot threads weaved together in this tale. I liked that we had these other storylines to follow while watching the trials and tribulations of Chevonne and Ruarc’s romance.\r\n\r\nI really enjoyed this audiobook; it was a tale that kept me listening from start to finish! Dark Alpha’s Passion has everything that I look for in a good paranormal romance story; adventure, mystery, action, great characters, some humour, romance and a sprinkling of passion.
