Unabridged Audiobook
I enjoyed Dawn Empress. Although it is a work of fiction, it contains well-researched insight into the personalities of this time period which I knew very little about. The political and religious power struggles near the end of the Roman empire are fascinating. Using a modern day vernacular in the dialogue was helpful in gaining a better understanding of these ancient people. Dawn Empress is masterfully narrated by Kathleen Li. She has a real knack for helping the listener know who is speaking through subtle vocal changes.
