Each one reminded me of Jack in some small way—his voice, his kindness, the way he once looked at me like I was something worth keeping. I took them slowly. Carefully. Beautifully. I made them mine the way a wife should.


These aren’t confessions the way Jack understands them. I’m not asking to be forgiven. I’m not explaining myself. I’m documenting a marriage he refuses to acknowledge.
