Unabridged Audiobook
There are too many characters. The idea that the Executioner teams up with some Nam buddies to help in his war against the mob was a good idea. But there are just too many of them. What I’m going to say next contains spoilers so don’t read further unless you don’t care about spoilers. I’ve only read two of the dozens of Executioner books, but they all seem like Mack is a one man army. So, right away I realized all the characters he’s recruiting would most likely have to die in this book to avoid being in the later ones. I was right. It makes it feel like Mack was the only one wearing plot armor and that broke immersion.
