In September of 2002, Mexican writer Ernestina Sodi and her sister, actress Laura Zapata, were kidnapped at gunpoint in Mexico City. Both women are members of the prominent Sodi family, and their younger sister, Thalia, is an international pop sensation and wife of music mogul Tommy Mottola.
