Unabridged Audiobook
A complex tale that spreads over generations and includes improbable romantic entanglements that cross what should have been impenetrable borders. The translation is satisfactory. It is difficult to get a sense of the actual writing style via the translation, but the story does flow well and keeps the reader's interest. Living in TA and being familiar with the city, has made the book even more intestinal. The narrator is skilled in creating the characters' persoas and I especially enjoyed his ability to authentically pronounce the Hebrew words.
sometimes, singers trying too hard sing so many runs that the story of the song and emotional heart of song is lost. novel seemed so techniquey, that each knew plot change felt like so many pricks that finally let all the blood out.
