Someone shipped more than diamond painting kits into Rochester this spring.

If the delivery address hadn't been Jessica Mitchell's little craft shop, the hidden things might have gone unnoticed in the bubble wrap and plastic drill trays.

But the person behind the smuggling operation failed to account for a shopkeeper who notices things, asks questions, and generally gets in the way. A brooding art appraiser with more secrets than answers won't help matters, and the knitting circle's rumor mill doesn't need long to get ahead of the police.

However, these are not the kind of people who will write off a loss, and Jessica's snooping will make her a target. Good thing she's not alone, for retired detective Albert Smith and his dog are never too far away when someone needs them.
