Summary
In David Ignatius' s gripping new novel, spies don' t bother to steal information . . . they change it, permanently and invisibly. Graham Weber has been director of the CIA for less than a week when a Swiss kid in a dirty T-shirt walks into the American consulate in Hamburg and says the agency has been hacked, and he has a list of agents' names to prove it. This is the moment a CIA director most dreads. Weber isn' t sure where to turn until he meets a charismatic (and unstable) young man named James Morris who runs the Internet Operations Center. He' s the CIA' s in-house geek. Weber launches Morris on a mole hunt unlike anything in spy fiction-- one that takes the reader into the hacker underground of Europe and America and ends up in a landscape of paranoia and betrayal. Like the new world of cyber-espionage from which it' s drawn, The Director is a maze of deception and double-dealing-- about a world where everything is written in zeroes and ones and nothing can be trusted.

Fantastic! I knew with narration by George Guidall that it would be good no matter what, but even if they had chosen a bad narrator instead, this story would still be excellent! This would make a great film adaptation. I felt like I could actually see all the characters playing it out in my mind. Intriguing from the start, along with top notch narration. Perfect Match!

This narrator is brilliant. I’d love him to read all my books. For me I felt The book was a slow start but it soon gathered speed. Lots of twists and double crossing. The characters were interesting and believable. It’s apparent that author undertook some immense research into internet and computer hacking, the details were interesting and informative. Really Great story, very well written, Excellently read.

Enjoyed the story overall. The ending was particularly exciting. Some moments in the middle seemed tedious but the author knew how to move the story along. Excellent narrator.

Complex but the kind of espionage/spy story I like. Always like George Guidal’s narrations.

I really tried to get into this book. I think it’s has potential and the content is good, but I just can’t pay attention to the narrator no matter how hard I try.
