Summary
One missing person. Ten sleepless nights. Whatever happens, don't close your eyes...

Catherine is frantic. It's her husband Simon's turn to take their son to nursery and he's nowhere to be seen. He promised he'd be here. So, where is he? And why isn't he taking her calls?

Her worst fears are soon realised when the police arrive at her door to tell her that Simon is missing, presumed dead. Refusing to accept that he's gone, Catherine spends her days retracing his last steps, and her nights searching the streets in desperation.

She will not rest, she will not sleep, until she's put her family back together.

The days merge into one, and things quickly unravel. Then comes another knock at the door. This time, a young woman. A stranger. Who tells Catherine she doesn't know her husband at all. That their whole life is a lie.

Catherine needs to know the truth. She needs to find Simon more than ever.

The body can't survive for more than 10 days without sleep. Will Catherine find her husband and uncover the truth, before it's too late?

Really enjoyed this and it was a freebie. Made up for some of my awful paid choices.

Very average and not especially absorbing. More hopeless women and the author fails to engage interest or the slightest care about outcome. It really dragged

Some moments were a tad unnecessary, but overall good book.

It’s an interesting book but it is hard to understand how anyone could possibly stay awake that long. Getting past that, it did keep my interest.

Good novel with a nice thread of mystery as to what happened to Simon. It's interesting seeing how the individual stories weave together. Narration is good though i do get a little irritated by young children's voices on an audio which slightly ruins it but otherwise a good story that held my attention

A little slow and drawn out. But good story.

The plot itself is actually OK, but I wanted to stop listening after the first couple hours because every single female character is cloyingly daft, gullible, helpless and whiney. The author‘s attempt to convey the mother’s absolute devotion to her child just ends up as the irritating driveling dialogue of an idiot. The constant stupid questions each woman had in her train of thought drove me crazy because any reasonably intelligent person would already know the obvious answer and not go there. The author forces the story with too much detail and many pointless phrases like „…because Simon must have taken the keys…“ instead of letting the reader have some space to be mystified. While there were some good plot twists for sure, most of the story was given away by too much build-up that let you see where it was going long before getting there. The story could have been told with a whole lot less words. The narrator was lively, but consistently emphasized the wrong words, which only highlighted the unpleasant hysterical personalities. I cringed the whole way through but didn‘t want to give up after the initial time investment - and I really did want to know how things faired for the story‘s truly evil villain. But I was glad when it ended.

Takes a lot of time to get into. I found the two main characters, Cat and Sara, very annoying in the beginning. Sticking with it will provide a good read once you're on the dowside of the hill you spend the first half climbing.
