loved this book. really hooked me

This is the third book of hers that I have read, and I have loved all 3. But each one seems to get better. The narrator did a fantastic job as well.

Jennifer McMahon is a new to me author, and after listening to The Drowning Kind, she is now a must read. The Drowning Kind goes back and forth in time. Lex, in present time, and Ethel, in the past, and through the book we find how their stories merge. This book was so delightfully creepy and I am still feeling shivers down my spine just thinking about it. The pool, kind of a lake, is the center of the story. I will never swim in a non-chlorinated body of water again! The narrators were awesome. Thank you to Netgalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for the ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

It does go back and forth, but it doesn't go in circles. It may not go in a straight line (thank goodness), but it does travel with an end in mind. I'm loving this second read. I'm not concentrating on the story I remember, but the one I'm presently hearing. Now I have to find Jennifer McMahon's other novels.

This book is a torturous ride on a carousel , it goes around endlessly and gets nowhere! Save yourself hours of wasted time, don't bother.

I didn't think I would like this book, but it turned out better than I expected. There are a lot of little details the author could have skipped, but overall it was an enjoyable book.

Sorry to say I didn’t care for this book, so I’m glad it wasn’t long. The narrator (current times) was too forced. There was a good twist at the end but overall it was predictable and overly formal. There’s a plot line that was never resolved - her client. So I guess it just left me with more questions.
