Unabridged Audiobook
On the book: A lovely introduction to spelljammer, and while it may seem like a book that has the plot twist in the summary, spoiler alert; no it does not. The actual plot twist is a little kitsch, its also set in well, spelljammer, the setting that has space clowns and space vampires (though much to my disappointment, no clowns appear in the book). Still, it explores the setting, tells an interesting story and answers some questions about the spelljammer setting, though you don't need to be familiar with the module in any way to understand anything. Bonus points; the hamster survives. On the narrator: Lisa Flanagan does a very good job capturing the essence of each character and holding the dramatic tension in a way that is easy to loose. You can hear the smile in her voice in some moments, and the panic in the moments of others that flow smoothly to make it an overall more real experience. A few characters could be difficult to differentiate for some narrators, but Lisa makes sure every character (in a book with a decently large cast) had a voice that was recognizable. You could tell who was speaking by tone alone, without the book needing to tell you. Also, the voice for Karrank is absolutely perfection to what the book describes.
