Unabridged Audiobook
Some genuinely interesting and valuable insight into both the hidden costs of reality TV on people and also how deeply influential it's been to our media landscape in the 21st century - I definitely underestimated its size and relevance before reading. A lot of the thematic connections the author tried to make between real life events and reality TV felt like a bit of a stretch at best and genuinely inappropriate at worst. A bit too much time was spent talking about the author's feelings on reality TV and how he assumed the reader felt, the idea that reality TV is a universal guilty habit we all collectively can't put down really removes too much responsibility from us as consumers who choose what media we support. Overall a solid book though, would give it a 3.5 if I knew how to do half ratings on this app lmao
