Not a fan of the stat updates but like the new format to move to chapters and make it easy to skip through. I do like the evolution of skills and such and the choices and logic behind the choices is interesting and part of who the characters are. Great series. If I'm in the middle of another book tape and one comes out, that one's put to the side. The lack of personality some times is the personality and Ivan masters that IMO.

Slow moving plot, not enough Ryun, endless stat sheets. I disliked some of book 2 but this is the first book i actually had to push myself to finish. The Empire? What empire? was there even an empire? I feel like I could describe the empire in 5 sentences. The fights are getting boring, and I feel like we lost the plot. One good thing I'll say is the big bad was nifty. I just want more of ryun being insane and everyone going 'omg.' zach is boring, a foil character to our evil anti hero, and trying to make him ryun 2.0 is kinda dull. I was disappointed with this one. I just want to watch more of our favorite evil void wielding dumpster fire go wild.

Such a wonderful and amazing book. It is written very well. I’m not a fan of the character sheet chapters, since they repeat much of the same from previous books, but I just skip them. The rest is quite interesting.

Very compelling story. Dealing with the stat sheets was definitely easier this go around.
