Engaging the Office Enemy: A Sweet Romantic Comedy

From fake it to make it: can rivals fall in love aboard a Caribbean cruise?

I can’t stand fakers—and Dax Nyhart takes the cake. With a silver spoon in his mouth and a knack for kissing up, he’s my ultimate nemesis at the marketing firm where we both work. For the past year, he’s been stealing my best clients, and it’s driving me crazy. It’s not that he’s actually good—he just has all the right connections, namely his uncle, the boss.

So when Dax proposes a fake engagement to help him land a coveted job far away from me, I can’t resist. What could possibly go wrong with a simple dinner, right?

Well, “a simple dinner” quickly spirals into a lavish vacation, complete with sun, sand, and a whole lot of forced smiles. Sure, fine, I’ll play the happily engaged fiancée. I brace myself to hold his hand and share fake laughs, all while plotting my escape from this nightmare.

But then something unexpected happens—I start enjoying my time with Dax. His charming façade begins to peel away, revealing a depth I never imagined. Suddenly, that “ugh” kiss I dreaded turns into something a whole lot more electrifying, and I’m left questioning everything.

What’s fake? What’s real? This is more of a nightmare than I initially realized. Because I’m not just worried about losing clients anymore.

Now I’m terrified of losing something much bigger—my heart.
