Unabridged Audiobook
This book is all right, but not great -- I feel as though the topic is inherently interesting and this book sucks some of the excitement out of it. It might be partly the fault of the narrator, who sounds like a nursery school teacher.
Very good information but in spite of my medical background, I found it difficult to absorb. Although it has been offered as a book for the layperson to understand epigenetic, I don't feel that it comes close to meeting that goal. It is so full of acronyms and chemical/enzymatic reactions that I lost interest quickly and completed the book only in hope that I might ultimately get something out of it. Didn't happen. Nessa should take a page from David Quammen's book, The Tangled Tree, a fascinating exploration of molecular biology and genetics, in which he presents an exceedingly complex topic in a format both readable and enjoyable. This book was a disappointment.
