Ken Follett at his best.

Another great Ken Follett book. I was hoping the end would be a little less predictable, but I'll still listen to it at least 3 times.

Love the Kingsbridge series. Transported back in time to 997. Hope he writes another one!

Great Book-John Lee is the Best -Nothing like a Ken Follett novel

I was disappointed with this book. It simply was not up to the caliber of the series for which it serves as the prequel. It is similar to Pillars of the Earth, et. al., but it simply lacked the intensity they possessed. The closing chapters were far too predictable and simply left this reader largely unimpressed.

I really enjoyed this novel. I am so sad it’s over….

Superb addition to the series. Excellent story and excellent narration. Keep them coming.

Everything we have learned to expect from a Ken Follett novel. Incredible characters, fabulous plots, and the detailed, weaving of storied lives until the end, when they mesh together in perfect harmony leaving the reader satiated and rather sad at the loss of the companionship of such a wonderful book!

This is an excellent novel that is up to Follett’s high standards, but the content is so depressing that I had to take several extended breaks! John Lee is a legendary narrator, and brings his best.

If you have read the other titles in this series, this one was a bit predictable. It was still a great story full of historical detail and twists. Narrator was great!

Excellent listen, story, narration and reminder that the behavior of tyranny always is present and requires constant attention and push back.

A slow story line, not as much interaction with Vikings as i was expecting for this time period.

Dark and raw with relentless villains but the bright and resilient protagonists endure, loved it!

A well made tale. Adult sensuality and violence in twined with romance and glory at the dawn of the Anglo Norman culture collision.

I love Ken Follett’s books. So rich in history. I learned a lot.

Really like Ken Follet

The book was entertaining but certainly not one of Follett's best. When I had put it down, I needed to remind myself to get back to it.

Another great book by Ken Follett. I couldn't stop listening. A combination of history, love story, hate, revenge, love, lust, it has it all. If you like Ken Follett, your will love this book.

I am ABSOLUTELY in love with this series of books. I can't gobble them up quick enough. A friend of mine suggested Pillars to me a few weeks ago and I became hooked. I was going to move on to the second book, but then I saw that the prequel was available for purchase, so, I purchased it first. Ken Follet and his master storytelling will be my new bestie for a minute...as I plan on consuming book after book, lol. Hopefully my husband won't get too jealous, lolol. I HIGHLY suggest this book!!!
