Unabridged Audiobook
Excellent read!
Perhaps I am spoiled by the previous three books but there is an element to this book that is missing. The quirkiness of life on the Dales is gone. No more Tristan, very little Sigfreid, trucks replace horses, conversations with farmers are replaced by worries about houses and mortgages. It is just life, isn't it? Dr. Herriot grew up and I long for the younger man. But everything gets older, so this is the natural progression. That being said, it is still filled with good stories and the reader is absolutely perfect.
A wonderful read or listen. I think better read, because of the frequent stops to explain the differant pronouncations and uses of the terms i.e. boot, but none the less, a wonderful book full of warmth, love, and humor
