Summary
It all starts with Jake Lassiter’s client, Francisco Crespo, telling a preposterous story about killing a fellow worker with a forklift. The evidence leads Lassiter to wealthy art collector Matsuo Yagamata and then to priceless art from Russia’s Hermitage museum. Aided by velvet-eyed P.I. Lourdes Soto and retired coroner Doc Charlie Riggs, the linebacker-turned-lawyer is on the case.

Following the trail of deceit and murder, Lassiter heads to Havana and untangles a deadly plot involving the CIA, Fidel Castro, and the Russian government...all leading to an explosive finale at sea.
