Unabridged Audiobook
Famous Last Words is the story of FMC Harlow and MMC Connor. Harlow and Connor are both seniors at Holt University. Harlow’s best friend is Connor’s half-brother and there’s a lot of history and animosity to work through. Harlow plans to become a marine biologist after graduation and Connor hopes to be drafted into the NHL. Both Harlow and Connor dislike each other despite never really spending that much time together before this story. This book took me a bit to get into, but about halfway through I found myself enjoying the story. Connor and Harlow had great banter and the gradual progression of their relationship and the thawing of the relationships around them was nice to read about.
Famous Last Words by C.W. Farnsworth is a college hockey romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Tim Paige and Amy Hall. This is the first book in the Holt Hockey series. This is the first book of C.W.'s that I have read and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Conor and Harlow. I loved getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life. I can't wait to read the next book in the series Against All Odds so I can get Aidan and Rylan's story. Tim and Amy did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. Perfect narrators for this book. I would recommend this book if you're looking for a college romance, hockey romance, enemies to lovers, or best friends brother romance.
This is the first book in the Holt Hockey series, a heartfelt college sports romance. Conor and Harlow’s enemies-to-lovers, slow burn romance is both emotional and passionate. Their story is filled with tension, secrets, humor, and just the right amount of angst. They have an amazing chemistry, and I loved watching their relationship slowly develop into something deep and beautiful. Tim Paige and Amy Hall did a good job narrating and bringing the characters to life. I enjoyed it and look forward to continuing the series.
Loved this first story int he Holt Hockey series. Its a slow burn college romance revolving around Harlow and Connor. At the start of the book you know there is tension between the two but you dont know the details of the issue, just that they go out of their way to avoid each other. But during their senior year at college a situation comes up and and Harlow asks Connor for assistance (with the nudge of his teammate) and their walls start to come down. Their dynamic is an interesting one and once they start to let go of certain things....they chemistry flows. This story is heartfelt and at one point made me cry ...which is hard to do. The narrators did amazing bringing this book to life and keeping it interesting to listen to.
I really enjoyed listening to this title . This was definitely a slow burn with plenty of angst. I really liked Harlow and Connor they definitely almost had me tearing my hair out except when they were intimate. Connor seemed so stuck into his sport and he was truly great . Just really dumb when it came to Harlow up until the very end. Either way they both learned a lot about one another and grew from it. The narrators did a good job with these characters and their complex emotions.
Rating: / Format: Audiobook - Dual narration by Tim Paige and Amy Hall Series / Standalone: Interconnected Standalone (Holt Hockey Book #1) Tropes: College Hockey, Teammate’s Ex, Enemies to Lovers, Best Friend’s Brother Thanks to Valentine PR and the author for this gifted audiobook - all opinions are my own Harlow and Connor Harlow and Connor have a very interesting past that brings plenty of family drama to the table but there chemistry undeniable. Hence, their ONS turned lovers turned more. The added angst of Connor trying to go pro after an earlier missed opportunity and there is plenty of story to drive this college romance. I love how Harlow is so confident and can hold her own against Connor and his heartbreaker tendencies. Great character progression on Connor’s end! Love, love, loved this on audio!! Both narrators did an amazing job voicing both their own and their counterpart characters in this dual style narration. The emotions came out in force and the personalities were uniquely voiced so consistently. I also really appreciate that we get different narrators throughout the series. Always a bonus!
