Unabridged Audiobook
This was a quick one. Honestly, a bit fluffy for me. I can see how this book is a great read for the masses. Great insights on boundaries. After reading these types of books, it shows me even more how far we are away from understanding each other, and that gap is, I don't know, too big to venture. For myself, this book skips the surface, dives in, and comes back out again. And honestly, I can't relate to a lot of the stuff in this book. But it kinda shows me a bit of myself. I've always had this thought growing up, trying to explain certain things. But I came to a point where I stopped explaining because that gap of someone from the modern world to understand is far too big, and in most cases, not even worth my breath. So I just sit there and try to listen. And honestly, I don't know shit about fuck either, lol. Don't get me wrong, a great book, but I won't be re-reading to find some new understanding about myself. And just because it's fluffy to me doesn't mean it can't help the masses. If I didn't feel as dark as I do sometimes, this would be a great book. Maybe for the type that has friends, two parents, a normal home, with a bit of normal (I don't even know what normal means), maybe with a tad of trauma. Or maybe I just blocked it all out, stopping myself from letting it help me. I'll end my little paragraph with one of the best psychological thrillers of all time, American Psycho. 'But even after admitting this, there is no catharsis; my punishment continues to elude me, and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself. No new knowledge can be extracted from my telling.'
Awesome book. Awesome author. Read this book
