Unabridged Audiobook
I selected the title out of the free monthly PERK titles. Definitely an interesting listen! I love the concept!! Ot reminded me of the movie Wreck It Ralph! Made me giggle all the way through! The book is 11h52m and could certainly be whittled down by half. Too much fluff, not enough substance. I finished it though!! Love the narrator Gethin Anthony! I’m a sucker for a British accent ❤️ Photo is a picture of a wooden bench with the title of the book and the authors name.
What a hoot! I can’t even describe the concept…it’s so ‘out there’. If anyone remembers Fantasy Island, it’s like the characters are in someone’s fantasy. I loved every character and how they came together. Literally laughed out loud sooo many times (with headphones on) - husband thought I was crazy! A really fun book.
Just couldn't get in to it. Only made it through a few chapters.
Derivative and overflowing with stereotypes.
The first hour was extremely difficult to get through. It was incredibly repeatatative and confusing...for an hour. Then it gets a little better but on a regular basis there are more annoying and repetitive parts. This is not an understatement. Then the ending, no spoilers, sucks. The big issue in question is not answered. There were some gem messages in the story but they were so bogged down by the repetitive annoying parts and then the ending...I no longer care. I don't plan on reading the second book.
I very much enjoyed listening to FICTION LAND. The narration was lovely. The narrator slipped from the voice of one character to the next with ease. I grew to really like a couple of the characters and was sorry to see the book end. Using a picture of a bench on the cover is a nice touch as it figures in the book.
