Summary
Ask someone what 'finance' means to him or her. You're probably going to get a variety of answers: 'It's about cash.' 'It's what my bank is doing.' 'The New York Stock Exchange has something to do with it.' 'It's how businesses and people get the money they need— you know, invest, and stuff like that.'

Finance is a wide area. It includes both national and international banking systems and business financing. It also deals with the phase you are going through in order to obtain a car loan and what a company is doing for its future needs.

We live in a world that encourages us to wastefully spend, accumulate more than we need, and postpone things like savings in retirement until we are essentially retired. It's easy to look around us and see all the things we can buy to become the person we want to be, and treat tax liability as the antisocial people's exclusive domain. But in creating and running TFD on a daily basis, I found that the first concrete steps to becoming the kind of individual who is 'good with money' are pretty easy and straightforward— these are the basics to getting good (which you will learn in this book) with money in a year.

Have you charged a late credit card fee in the past year or bounced a check?

Have you lost an invoice, report, or other financial record you urgently needed to find? Are you uncertain about how much coverage to pay, what health plan to choose from, the right way to save for college or retirement?

Would you ever like to have less time to worry about money?

The good news is that hope remains. You can win your choices, streamline your financial systems, and control your money. A couple of hours spent with this book and a little time invested in today's personal finance technology can put you on track for your goals and ease your anxiety about the details that might otherwise make you trip up.

I appreciate that the principles outlined in this book are practical and written in a fashion that is not intimidating to the reader. I am assuming that most people, like myself, understand the targeted audience and are drawn to the title. My students need an introduction to personal finance and this will work very well.

This book caught my eye when searching for a graduation gift for my son. Most students are not taught how to make money, save, invest, and how to make their money work for them to grow their wealth. This book gives you easy to read, digestible stories in one or two pages at a time that builds on wealth building principals. I think it definitely a great graduation gift but really a great book for anyone to have a better understanding of how to build wealth. Love this book.

While many of the ideas are fairly simple we were able to take away tons of good pointers from this book. I liked that the author makes every concept sound very doable and since implementing the pieces we were missing we have discovered that they are in fact very doable and beneficial for our financial healt

I gave this book to my nephew for his High School graduation, along with a very nice bookmark$$ He stuck the money in a pile with the rest of the money gifts. Then he sat in a chair and read more than half the book while the rest of us celebrated his graduation. By the next day he had finished it. I told him I want to read it next

Awesome book. In my early/mid 30s and though much of this I have a pretty good handle on, the author had some interesting advice and ideas that have helped me start saving in ways I'd never thought of on my own. The book has already paid for itself and it's recharged excitement in my financial future. Well worth the purchase and highly recommended for any age be it for yourself or a gift.

Would definitely buy again and recommend to anyone who is looking for this info. It is written in a way that each section is short, quick and to the point so it isn't difficult or time-consuming to read.

Easy to follow and apply. Probably the most concise approach to making incremental improvements to the way you handle money

Love it! Easy read, to the point, and a great conversation starter; especially in the area of money and personal finance. Our kids don't learn how to budget or balance checkbooks in school. This is a non-threatening way to touch the subject and share some knowledge.

I teach Financial Literacy to high school kids and this book has been hugely beneficial. The content is relatable, brief and detailed with just enough information to keep them off their phones for 90 minutes at a time (block schedule)
