This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. Nearly five months on the road: Niklas and his small rescue dog Nikita set off in their camper van, the Niki-Mobile, for their first big journey. Their route takes them from Germany to Lake Garda, across the sea to Corsica, and on to Sardinia. Between mountain roads, old towns, beaches, ferry crossings and quiet campsites, plans go wrong, small mishaps turn into stories, and strangers become memorable companions.

At the heart of the journey is not a spectacular adventure, but the growing bond between a man and his dog. Nikita’s curiosity, determination and wonderfully dog-like logic keep Niklas on his toes, while the two of them learn how well they have already become a team.

Warm, humorous and touching, The First Big Journey is a feel-good travel story about friendship, trust, everyday adventures and the joy of discovering new places together. Written for listeners across generations, it combines gentle humor, emotional moments and a warm, satisfying ending.
