Summary
A new adult romance with sass, steam, and soccer.

What do you do when you encounter the famous footballer voted 'Sexiest Athlete Alive' three years running on a soccer field in Germany?

If you're Saylor Scott, you challenge him to a shoot-out. And win.

Saylor's goals have always involved the literal kind constructed from posts and netting. Her single-minded focus has cost her a lot, but it's also earned her recognition as the top female college player in the US. She doesn't get attached, she never gets distracted, and she could care less what anyone thinks of her.

Meeting Adler Beck, the notorious player celebrated worldwide and coveted by women everywhere, challenges her indifference. But Saylor perfected the art of appearing unbothered a long time ago, and her scoring percentage is even higher off the pitch. Might as well add a gorgeous German to the tally.

Because only a fool would fall for a superstar known for breaking hearts alongside records.

And no one has ever accused Saylor Scott of being a fool.

1st person, one sided POV. A quick start to the steam when a college soccer player heads over the pond to play soccer for 6 weeks and meets soccer super star Adler Beck. Their connection is instantaneous and sparks fly. She’s not sure of commitment and he is a playboy. Once he has decided she’s the one he wants she gets a little spooked. Plenty of spice. Family dynamics play a part. Audio review: Elisabeth Lagelee did a great job. She changed up her tone and accents so you could tell she was playing all the different characters. The audio was good. Sports romance. Close proximity. HEA always.

I have loved and been obsessed with every single one of CWF books since I found her two years ago…. However, this one was not really it for me. I was given an audio code from Valentine which luckily helped me push through. The FMC really kind of sucked with how much she was indecisive but Adler beck was hot and could get it. He gave off major kulti vibes which I loved. There was just no real plot and the story fell flat for me. The narrator as a female did great, but when she had to switch to a male voice, it was not great. 3/5 for the book. 3/5 for the narrator and audio. With that being said, I will give book 2 (becks sister Sophia) a shot bc I think that CWF writing has really evolved since FF,FF.
