Summary
One hundred years ago, a sheriff's posse killed dark warlock Rhyfel Gremory, but his witch-disciples escaped, and their magic made them nearly immortal. To keep their power, each year one of the witch-disciples kills a descendant of one of the men in the posse, a twelve-year cycle that has cost dozens of lives, including that of Seth Tanner's brother, Jesse.

Seth rescued Evan Malone from one of the witches, and they've fallen in love despite the danger and chaos, going on the road to complete the quest and bring an end to the ritual murders. Their relationship is new, their emotions are raw, and the danger is real. It's a challenge to find their way as a couple while they're on the road together in the close quarters of Seth's RV, training in magic and combat skills to fight off a supernatural killer.

Their quest to stop a century-long killing spree takes them to a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains. They're ahead of the sacrifice cycle, with plans to stop the murders and kill the dark witch. Only this time, the hunters become the hunted when the witch knows they're coming to get him, and has deadly plans of his own.

This is a great series! The Witchbane series has been an unusual one for me… I usually prefer to read series in order but I’ve been reading the Witchbane series in reverse order and it really has been fine to do it that way. Morgan Brice does a great job of giving the reader background information needed for the characters and yet it shouldn’t feel redundant for someone who has read them in order. I’ve really come to appreciate how the different series that Morgan Brice writes are connected to each other, including the ones she writes as Gail Z. Martin. But even if you haven’t read any of the other series, I don’t think you’ll feel like you’ve missed anything – at least I haven’t felt that way. What has happened is that I’ve become intrigued enough that I want to start reading her Gail Z. Martin stories even though the majority of what I read these days is MM romance. Flame and Ash continues the adventures of Seth and Evan in their quest to destroy all of the witch-disciples. They team up with Milo and Toby, older witch hunters who have been great mentors to Seth. I loved reading about this older couple and how they’ve helped Seth. The audiobook performed by Kale Williams really held my attention. The adventure and nail-biting suspense kept me genuinely entertained. I think he has done a great job with this series. Now I just need to make time to listen to books 1-3.

Flame and Ash (audiobook) MMy Thoughts, Confessions, and Review Even though RVing with Seth and Evan is a journey I enjoy, there are times when their adventure in “Flame and Ash,” worried the momma’s heart that beats inside of me. Their continued hunt for the Witch Disciples takes them to North Carolina where they meet up with Milo and Toby. I was thrilled Evan finally got to meet Seth’s found family and surrogate fathers, who happened to also be hunters of all things supernatural. Thankfully, the older hunters were around and had a few friends in the area from past “jobs” because what Seth and Evan were about to face was going to need some serious backup. Brice’s stories always keep me hooked but add the warm voice narration of Kale Williams and I am in PNR heaven. “Flame and Ash,” is filled with a great mix of characters both supernatural and mundane, and while the story is a PNR there is plenty of sMMexy RoMMance between Seth and Evan as they continue to grow their relationship. I love RVing with the guys in the Witchbane Series. The Story: 4.50

4.5 stars! Another thrilling (and death-defying) hunt! Seth and Evan are back and ready to take on the next witch disciple. They are better trained, better prepared, and with the help of Milo and Toby, the hunt is on... With a web of deceit and corruption intertwined throughout a small mountain town, Seth and Evan have their work cut out for them. With a curious acquaintance causing trouble, Seth's plan is changed and the race to save their lives just got harder and the stakes got higher. A thrilling quick read with ghost, murder, and mayhem. A few twists here and there and a collection of wonderful characters that you can't help but root for! Another winner from Morgan!

Another enjoyable read in the series this time the boys team up with Toby and Milo, the hunters who trained Seth and are like family to him. This relationship added another dynamic to the interactions with Evan and Seth able to envisage a 'forever' life together. The narrator does an excellent job, especially in this one, where he has 3 different couples to voice, often all at the same time. The audio manages to increase both the danger and the emotion in the original text.

This is the third book in the series and must be read in the series order for maximum enjoyment. In this installment, we see Seth and Evan joining forces with Milo and Toby to combat an ancient killing spree. The world building of this series is absolutely brilliant and the storyline keeps getting more and more engaging with every book. I love the author's writing style. The characters were likeable, relatable, and well fleshed out. The narrator did a great job on the audio delivery and narration

Morgan Brice cleverly weaves a Romeo and Juliet romance mixed with magic and a road trip. The witch mythology was really well crafted and fitted in well in this universe Brice has created. Seth and Evan's romance was so perfectly written so naturally and I enjoyed how Brice found a balance between the small intimate character moments and the danger being in a relationship for them is. Kale Williams had a brilliant voice for narration. His tone and performance range complimented this story nicely, shifting between soothing and emotional with ease. I would definitely listen to more books narrated by him. As I stated, Brice has a great voice for combining detailed fantasy world-building alongside a grounded love story. It was a fast, but enjoyable listen.

I loved this boom so much! You definitely need to read this series in order for it to make sense and to truly love these characters. I was on the edge of my seat for most of this book worried about what would happen next and how things would be resolved. I absolutely loved it though and want more of the characters!

You really do need to read these in order but I read ( listened to this one without the others) there is enough backstory to keep you up and interested without bogging it down. I loved the powerful attachment of Evan and Seth The story kept you on your toes, it was nail biting suspense in places. Exciting, gripping and sexy. I listened to the audio and if you can afford it, highly suggest. Or buy the book and whisper sync. I loved the narrators smooth, relaxing voice and depiction of characters and action. If you like, supernatural, strong characters, witches, witch hunters, action and hot sexy times this is for you... start with book one though.

I’m so happy to be reading Seth and Evan again! Not only that, but this story is set in Boone, North Carolina where I lived for several years…always love reading something set in a familiar locale. Plus getting back into the whole witch disciples storyline—I look forward to these two guys continuing to take these baddies down. Even better was that this time around, Seth’s mentors Toby and Milo join them to help, plus we get introduced to a new couple, one of whom is the target this time around. I’m hoping we might see more of them at some point in a future story. Seth and Evan’s relationship seems more solid than ever, and even with that we still get more relationship development in this book (I love that). They’re just as hot as well…maybe even getting hotter together (you’ll see what I mean ;-) ). Even if a bit of a wrench is thrown in at one point… Though the core legend on which this series is based and the resulting methods of fighting the disciples seem to remain constant, you’ll find some interesting new places, supernatural creatures, and objects to capture your attention (you can be absolutely sure on my next trip to North Carolina I’ll be checking out the Road to Nowhere since it’s an actual place with an intriguing history!). The paranormal aspects of the story, the angst brought up thanks to someone from Seth’s past, and the fight against another disciple had me reading this story through in a single sitting. Flame and Ash is another excellent addition to this series, and I’ll be here waiting for Seth and Evan’s next adventure. This book was a 4.5-star read for me, and I know fans of the series will definitely enjoy it. This is the third book in the series, and you really do need to read these books in order to get the full effect. There are also mentions of characters from the author’s other series, though you don’t need to have read those to enjoy this one. This story is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content. The narration: I really enjoyed the narration. Kale Williams did another solid job, and I found myself fully immersed with Seth and Evan once again. The story flew by, and the voices were consistent with the prior books in the series. 5 stars for the narration!

This was a nail-biter of a book! Our two main characters are still trying to figure out their relationship but having to do that while traveling and preventing more revenge, paranormal killings. The evil here is strong and very, very dangerous both physically and emotionally. I thought Kale William's performance was wonderful. He captured all the darkness so the hairs on the back of your neck stood up, but he also showed us the strong bond between our two protagonists.

Seth & Evan back again I’m enjoying the Witchbane series. I remember the first book was a little shaky for me, but I’ve since settled into the stories quite nicely. Seth lost his brother violently to a supernatural force and once he determined the pattern of victims, he made it his mission to prevent further killings, thereby weakening the otherworldly creatures. He saved Evan’s life and, having lost everything, Evan decided to join Seth on his quest. But he’s a graphic artist who knows nothing about the occult. So it’s been a steep learning curve for him – and me. We meet an older pair of ghost hunters on this journey through the Blue Ridge Mountains – proof this can be a life-long occupation. Or obsession. Just depends on your perspective. This time it’s Seth who is truly endangered and Evan who must lead the rescue. He never hesitates. The bond between the men is unbreakable and I felt that emotional pull. The story hit home with how we have family who reject us for who we are (Evan) and those we embrace as found family (Seth). I’ll end by saying Kale Williams is doing a great job with this series and I was pleased Simon Kincaide from the Badlands series made an appearance. Plenty more ghosts to hunt, plenty more stories to come.

Flame and Ash is Book 4 in the Witchbane series. This is an intense action packed paranormal story and a wonderful addition to the series as Seth and Evan hunt down the next witch-disciple. They team up with Toby and Milo and find themselves in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. I love how they use the ghosts for help. This is such an enjoyable series with wonderful characters and amazing world building and I definitely recommend it. Narrator Kale Williams does an amazing job. He really brings the story to life.

Of course I start on the fourth book in the series! It was sooo good! Seth and Evan are witch hunters looking for the ten witch-disciples of a dark warlock Gremory. Gremory was killed a hundred years ago and one of the descendants of who killed him now must pay with their lives. Seth’s brother Jesse died at the hands of one of the disciples and now he’s trying to kill all of them so that no one more innocents have to die. This is a fantastic urban fantasy story!! It’s full of magic and witches, suspense, ghost and bad guys then this is the story for you! Well written with a ton of depth to the characters. Sooo freakin good!! Highly recommend!!

Kale Williams did an outstanding job with the narration. Love his voice, its so calm and smooth. It might help understand what's going on if you read the other books in the series but, it does stand alone. Interesting and very entertaining story, had me wanting to know what was going to happen next. Great group of guys in this adventure, hopefully, they are a group that will be in other stories in the series. Witches, spells and a killing spree ended. Some hot sex scenes too. Well worth the listen.
