Unabridged Audiobook
A slow start gives way to a story that builds effectively and delivers several surprising turns. Unfortunately, the narration falls short. The performance flattens every character into the same perpetually annoyed voice—there’s no nuance or emotional range, just constant irritation. It becomes distracting and ultimately does the story a disservice.
An excellent book about what it mean to be part of a nation, a culture, and untimely a family.
wow. what a great book. memoir is my jam and this book is so complex and rich with human connections. extremely compelling story. that is also excellently crafted and told. you have to hang on for shifts in time and space and it is REALLY HARD to like some of the characters and then that part is not so important...they are humans and humans are complex and often unlikable. but can still have fascinating and compelling stories. highly recommend!!
