Unabridged Audiobook
Working for my agency mean Sundays disappeared into massive "strategic planning" marathons. Started listening to this audiobook during my morning drives—it's less than 3 hours total, super easy to get through. The weekly reset framework? Cut my Sunday planning down to maybe 20 minutes and somehow it actually works better. My team noticed I'm way more present in meetings instead of mentally running through my to-do list. Honestly didn't expect an audiobook this short to replace a $2K productivity course I took last year, but here we are. If you're juggling client work with your own projects and have a commute, just throw this on. You'll finish it in a few drives and actually use what you learn.
The focus equation is a master class in maintaining focus. It’s not just theory, it goes into the nitty-gritty of practicality. It lays out key actions that you can implement to maintain your focus in every situation. From dealing with tabs on your browser or how you handle your email to how you set up your time. I will have to listen to this one again and take notes. It probably is best to grab a physical copy of it and go through it with this book. Well done!
I'll be honest, this audiobook frustrated me at first. It felt too blunt. Not polished. It doesn't give you a neat 12-step system or a cute acronym to remember. But the more I listen, the more I realized, that’s the point. This book doesn’t baby you. It’s not trying to be your productivity buddy. It’s more like a slap in the face from someone who actually wants you to win. If you’re addicted to chasing goals, productivity hacks, or dopamine rituals, this book will piss you off. Because it’ll make you stop and ask: What am I even doing this all for? It doesn’t have the slick polish of Atomic Habits, or the deep philosophy of Deep Work. But it does something they don’t: it makes you uncomfortable enough to finally change.
