In the winter of 1777, General George Washington encamped his Continental Army at Valley Forge—a glacial stretch of Pennsylvania only miles from British-occupied Philadelphia. For six months, thousands endured starvation, disease, and death in conditions that tested the very soul of the Revolution. Among the soldiers was Phineas: the son of a New York blacksmith, sustained by the bonds of friendship and a stubborn will to survive.

Forge follows Phineas and his companions across the defining campaigns of the American War of Independence—the Battles of Barren Hill, Monmouth, Rhode Island, Chesapeake Bay, and Yorktown—while weaving in the perspectives of the men shaping history around them: George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and the Marquis de Lafayette, among others.

Grounded in historical accuracy and driven by deeply human drama, Forge is both an intimate portrait of survival and a chronicle of a nation earning its freedom— a celebration 250 years in the making.
