The queen herself has done it again and has published an absolutely amazing romantic suspense. This is how you start a series! It was perfection, absolute perfection. Silas and Brinley were everything. The side characters were amazing. I just loved absolutely everything about this book. Silas, Brinley and sweet little Kai had me hooked from the beginning. I love when a book can pull me in from the very beginning and this is exactly what this book did. I binged this in one, single day. I could not, would not put it down, I had to know what was going to happen, I needed more of them. This book had me screaming, giggling, kicking my feet, and on the edge of my seat. Silas is the President of the Crimson Crows who has a dark past and while trying to atone for his sins still thinks he’s undeserving of love. Brinley is a force to be reckoned with; she's loyal, independent and strong as hell. Both of them have had agonizing and traumatic childhoods and together they were able to heal from their pasts and move forward. They were made for each other, they were meant to be together. The tension between Silas and Brinley was top notch, you could feel it coming off the pages. The banter, oh my gosh I couldn’t get enough of it. The action and suspense were perfectly done, the mix of plot and romance was top tier. And the spice was definitely spicing, it’ll have you blushing and your panties melting. I loved the found family aspect of this MC, they all have complicated pasts but they are some of the most loyal and loving people ever. And don’t get me started on the twist, like what!! . And ohhhh my gosh the slow burn about killed me but it was totally worth it. Oh my lanta! The audio was phenomenal! Connor Crais and Desiree Ketchum absolutely nailed it. They brought so much emotion into their characters and elevated my reading experience. In my opinion, it made an amazing book even better. While I do prefer duet style narration, Connor and Desiree do an amazing job voicing the opposite gender as well as a little boy’s voice. They quite literally hit this narration out of the park.

4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I've spent so many years allowing hatred to drive me, but this love will be what's driving me now, Brinley. This massive amount of love that I've got for you. you are the only one who could break through the stone. And now every broken piece belongs to you." The Desireé Ketchum narrates for Brinley. She has a wide range, bringing a youthful tone for 20-something Brinley, and yet is having a sense of strength and get a dash of vulnerability. She also nails the little boys voice perfectly.
