Summary
2015 READERS' FAVORITE AWARD WINNER.

Cherished is the only human in the Garden. Naïve and confused, he yearns to understand his invisible Creator, the rules governing the world, and his own place within it. Instead of answers, he encounters three Teachers and a series of challenges that upend his perceptions and security. As dangers mount and questions multiply, Cherished must learn how to convert these challenges into a means for developing unwavering trust in Creator.

This story explores disappointment, failure, doubt, and the difficult lessons that transform a soul. At its core, it is an allegory about one’s deepening relationship with God, leading to peace, intimacy, and trust. Through symbolism, vivid storytelling, and thought-provoking discussion questions, the author invites readers to wrestle with the challenge of trusting God when facing the worst of circumstances.

'A must read for anyone on a spiritual journey.' —Richard Rohr, OFM, The Center for Action and Contemplation

'This book definitely inspired me to trust more fully in God.' —Pastor Doug McCoy, Columbus, OH

Ideal for readers who enjoy thoughtful Christian allegory, spiritual transformation fiction, and books that inspire personal reflection and group discussion.

To facilitate contemplation and spiritual growth, Four in the Garden is divided into short thematic chapters and discussion questions are provided at the end of the book and on the author’s website.

I found this book to be full of golden nuggets, one's that I will explore on a deeper level. In this day, June 2020, where fear has gripped so many and life is so uncertain, this book communicates hope. Fear is crippling, it states, and pain and fear prevent you from seeing God. As we watch Cherished grapple with his/her fear and pain, I am encouraged to look at my own. In God, I are safe from fear. I am not promised an easy life, however I am promised that God will be with me the whole time. I loved all the different characters. Well done.

This is a fabulous book. It was intriguing and challenging to me spiritually, intellectually and philosophically. It enabled my imagination and yet was solidly grounded it my beliefs and my personal theology. The narration was okay for me, although I am not a fan of audio books. Nor am I a fan of ebooks, personally. Still like a paper version in which I can make notations and highlights for future reference. Not meant to discredit the narrator's effort.

This well written book is to be savored, not rushed through. There are many though proving, yet comforting information. It's easy for us to identify with Cherished.

This book helped me to understand that God is loving. It enabled me to trust God more. I read it while I was going through a really tough time and it helped me through that time. If you like The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, or The Pilgrim's Progress, you will like this book. I encourage you to give it a try.
