Unabridged Audiobook
(4.5 stars rounded to 5 stars on Goodreads and retail sites) Four Months Three Words is an audiobook by CW Farnsworth. This is the story of Vivienne, the crown Princess of a small European country. Right after finishing high school, Vivienne was informed that she would be taking the crown much sooner than she anticipated and would have to get married before her coronation. Vivienne, feeling trapped by her circumstances, asked her father to study abroad incognito so that she could experience what it felt like to be a normal college student. She decided to attend a University in the USA where she met Jace Dawson, the college football hero who was destined for a career as a professional quarterback. Even though a relationship between them was impossible due to their respective futures, Vivienne couldn’t help but be drawn to Jace. Who knew their lives could be turned completely upside down in only four months? Tyler Darcy and Angelina Rocca were wonderful narrating this audiobook. They were not names that I recognized, but they definitely did this book justice. As to the story itself, I laughed, cried, and definitely didn’t expect some of the turns the story took. It is a really good story, though some of the middle seemed really familiar. For that reason, I knocked .5 stars off what would have been a 5 star review. I was really moved by this audiobook, and I loved their HEA. I think I have a new trope favorite: the “Impossible” love. If you are a listener who enjoys a new adult, royal, football, impossible love, rich girl/poor boy, hidden identity, forbidden relationship, enemies to lovers, college contemporary romance, then you will love this audiobook. I received a free ALC of this story via Valentine PR and I’m voluntarily leaving this honest review.
I ended up really enjoying this book. I wasn’t sure at the beginning because it had a really slow start before we got going with the love story and princess experiencing a normal life. The characters are well developed. Though the world building for the European country could use some work. It felt like a Hallmark royal kingdom where not a lot of thought goes into creating a culture so everything is very cookie cutter for simplicities sake. Which is a real shame because the characters that occupied the world were good so it’s side their surroundings were so bland and undefined. The friendships and political drama was my favorite parts though I did enjoy the love story as well. It’s pretty tame in the intimacy department for those who are curious to know. This is definitely more on the sweet side. Overall I thought it was an engaging listen with good narrators.
