Owning a strip club isn’t the real-life fantasy most guys expect it to be. With long hours, a staff with enough issues to keep a psych ward in business, and the police checking up on him regularly, twenty-nine year old Cain is starting to second guess his silent mission to save these women. That is, until a tiny angel named Charlie walks through his door. Blonde and blue-eyed, sweet as can be, this dancer’s sad smile opens up old wounds. She reminds him so much of Penny.

Nineteen year old Charlie’s mother was wrong. She is good for something. That something may be taking her clothes off for men but at least it’s something. And she really is good at it. She has fans who cheer her on and come back week after week. And then there’s Cain, her gorgeous boss. So sweet, so gentle. All he wants is to make her life better: like for her to get her G.E.D. and a safer apartment, for starter's. She wonders about him, sometimes...but he never touches her. Never. And she’s glad because if Cain knew what her other boss made her do, he’d never look at her again.

While Cain refuses to be that creepy strip club boss who messes around with his staff, he can't stop himself from being attracted to Charlie. Yet as he helps her turn her life around, he discovers that Charlie is headed down a dangerous path, one that will force Cain to decide whether standing on principle is worth losing the woman he's falling for...

I love this book, definitely entertaining And a good romance with a really good story line.

This is the first book I've listened to in the series and thought it had a good balance of grit and romance. It kept me listening because I was rooting for Charlie to find a way out of her step-father's grip. The one thing that made me cringe the whole way through was her age, 18. Just barely out of high school. Cain of course has no idea she's that young so as he thinks sexually about her, fantasizes and begins sleeping with her, all I could think was SHES A CHILD! Stay away! lol. The ending was a wee bit cliché but it's a YA romance after all so that's usually what you get.

I love this author and this series! Getting to hear Kane's story was at first uninteresting to me, but upon listening to a few chapters I was hooked! Great story and great ending!
