Unabridged Audiobook
I am bothered by her voice. I was hoping this was going to be a better educational 'read'.
While this book points out very important societal impacts on new mothers, it’s written (and narrated) in a way that victimizes them instead of empowering. I found myself, in my 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy, feeling scorned and bitter by events described in this book that didn’t actually happen to me. While it brought awareness to me of the possible negative outcomes, this book was so heavily negative that I had to reach to outside support to rebalance.
gorgeous book, full of treasures, both for preparing for an optimal postpartum experience and to integrate a past experience which was not ideal. every woman should read, make notes and revisit this book often throughout their PP journey. thanks Kimberly for your magnificent work
