The Friday Night Mystery Club is the first book in the series by Joanna Campbell Slan. The characters are likable and there are some twists that kept the mystery interesting. [potential spoilers removed] There is a little swearing and a lot of injuries. It is mostly a cozy mystery but a little bit outside the usual cozy guidelines. It is unique because it takes place in the 1980s before cellphones and electronics that we take for granted today. It gives the story a different perspective. I really liked Cragan, Winnie, the other members of the mystery club, Ryder and Kevin. There are secrets revealed and plot twists that made it hard to put down. I'm looking forward to the next book to see what trouble Cragan gets in next!
